Trades Recognition Australia Changes to Job Ready Program (JRP)

The Job Ready Program (JRP) is for international student graduates who hold an Australian qualification issued by a CRICOS registered training organisation based on studies in Australia.

It is a four-step employment-based skills assessment program that provides the opportunity to demonstrate that the applicants has the skills and job readiness to the relevant nominated occupation, in an Australian workplace before you apply for migration in Australia.

To apply for the JRP you must first complete a Job Ready Registration through the online portal.

From 11 June 2020, the application process will be streamlined and all application and documents will need to be uploaded online to the TRA online portal, which can be accessed via the TRA website .

  • Step 1: Provisional Skills Assessment
  • Step 2: Job Ready Employment
  • Step 3: Job Ready Workplace Assessment
  • Step 4: Job Ready Final Assessment

JRP applications submitted online prior to 11 June 2020 can still be emailed to and will be processed by TRA. Supporting documentation emailed prior to 11 June 2020 will be processed and does not need to be uploaded in the online portal.
