NSW Subclass 491 Visa opening

The Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491) will be open for applications from Monday 15 June 2020. Applications will be open until Tuesday 23 June 2020 5 pm and will be assessed by the end of 30 June 2020.

This is a great opportunity for skilled migrants who seek to live and work in Regional NSW for a period 5 years, with a potential pathway to permanent residency.

The work opportunities, lifestyle and services are similar to major cities, as regional NSW offers:

  • A population of 2.6 million
  • A range of climates
  • Full amenities and facilities in NSW regional cities
  • Good housing affordability

A range of occupations are offered for this program including agriculture, construction, various company, engineering and medical roles. Please see NSW Stream 1- Regional Skilled Occupation List for a full list.

The below requirements must be met before applying for this program:

  1. You must have your relevant occupation listed on NSW Stream 1- Regional Skilled Occupation List
  2. You must have been living and working in a designated regional area in NSW for at least the last 12 months
  3. You must have been working in your nominated occupation (or closely related occupations) for at least the last 12 months

Further information will be released on how to apply on the NSW Migration website on Monday 15 June 2020.

If you do not meet all these requirements, you should not apply for NSW nomination.
