Carer Visa application & Chronic health conditionsMay 5, 2011 - Unreported Cases
The applicant and her son travelled to Australia from a European country to visit their family. The applicant later lodged a carer visa application on the basis that her mother, the sponsor, was suffering from chronic health conditions and needed daily assistance with managing her health. This change in circumstances occurred after the applicant travelled from her country to Australia her mother’s conditions worsened and her family members began to struggle to look after the applicant’s mother.
In our submissions, we argued that the sponsor needed daily care for the most basic needs, due to her advanced and severe medical conditions. The sponsor’s relatives were not in a position to take care of her and her daughter was the only available person that could assume the role of her carer.
