Australian talent gap

Skill shortages threaten Australia’s economic development is a new challenge for the Commonwealth Government, industry groups called on the Government to increase skilled migrants every year to 220,000.

Warned by Australian businesses, the decreases in apprenticeship can cause a downfall in Australia economy, therefore they call on our government to expand immigration program, and it is to prevent the 2.8million Australian talent gap within the next 10 years.

However, on the question of how to resolve future talent gap in Australia, Australia also has different voices on the industries. Engineers Australia and other associations believes the pressure on skill shortages in the future is expected to be eased, and before outsourcing and recruiting from overseas, there should be more training for local workers.
